Synopsis

During a visit to Dr. Leonard's laboratory, soccer fan Hayato and his musician girlfriend Yumi accidentally trigger the Tondekeman, a humorous sentient kettle, and are hurled centuries into the past. In Baghdad they find each other but become separated from the kettle, and soon encounter figures such as Aladdin, Prince Dandarn and Princess Shalala, along with the sly Abdullah, who seeks to abduct the princess and deliver her to his master. As Abdullah flees through time, Hayato and Yumi follow him across various periods and meet a range of historical and literary personalities while trying to recover the Tondekeman. They remain trapped in the past until they can reclaim the kettle from Abdullah's control and return to their own time.
