Synopsis

In Stern Bild City, people with extraordinary abilities—known as NEXT—use their powers in divergent ways, sometimes helping others, sometimes harming them. A recurring televised group of NEXT operates on Hero TV, apprehending criminals while gaining exposure for sponsors and accumulating Hero Points toward becoming the King of Heroes. Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, a seasoned hero called Wild Tiger, has seen his standing decline, in part because he struggles to collaborate with fellow heroes. After a poor season in which many peers surpassed him, Kotetsu is assigned a partner: a rookie who goes by his actual name, Barnaby Brooks Jr. Barnaby and Kotetsu are immediately at odds—Barnaby's more formal approach clashes with Kotetsu's loose style, and their personalities conflict constantly. Despite their incompatibility, they must learn to coordinate their efforts to preserve their careers and confront the increasing threats that trouble Stern Bild City.
