Synopsis

Renako Amaori, who has long avoided social interaction, resolves to become more outgoing and starts over at a high school where no one knows her. She alters her look, practices talking to others, and soon connects with Mai Ouzuka, a well-known model. Joining Mai’s circle brings new challenges: maintaining a fabricated persona proves difficult. After an earnest conversation in which they exchange personal struggles, Renako comes to believe they might form a close friendship. The next day, Mai unexpectedly declares romantic feelings for Renako. Although Renako does not seek a romantic relationship, Mai proposes a tentative arrangement in which they alternate between acting as friends and as a couple to discover what fits them both. Renako aims to preserve a peaceful friendship, yet Mai’s persistent advances force Renako to confront her own evolving feelings as their relationship shifts between companionship and romance.
