Synopsis

On an autumn night at a secluded ramen stall near Shimogamo Shrine, a solitary third-year college student encounters a peculiar man whose head resembles an eggplant and who claims to be a matchmaker deity. This meeting forces the student to revisit the previous two years of his university life—years spent in bitterness as he and his sole companion Ozu, an unsettling figure, made a habit of sabotaging couples around campus. Determined to change course, he tries to pursue Akashi, a withdrawn yet gentle underclassman, but lacks the courage to follow through and is left wishing he had lived differently. In that instant of regret, he is flung back to the start of his college days and given an opportunity to remake his path. Blending surreal imagery, artistic direction, and mind-bending shifts in time, the story follows his attempts to form friendships, seek romance, and achieve the idealized campus experience he longed for.
