Uzuki Shimamura is a student with ambitions of becoming an idol. After she does not pass an initial audition, a producer at 346 Productions selects her for the newly launched Cinderella Project, intended to form a fresh idol unit. The lineup is incomplete and requires two additional talents, prompting the producer to seek out promising candidates. He notices Rin Shibuya during a confrontation with an agitated crowd; when the producer intervenes on her behalf, both are briefly detained and questioned by the police before being cleared. The producer approaches Rin about joining the Cinderella Project, but she turns down the offer. The story follows the producer’s efforts to recruit two more members and the challenges that arise as he attempts to assemble the group.
