Synopsis

Lag returns to the Bee Hive with Niche after a battle leaves Gauche wounded, and begins to assemble the facts behind recent attacks. He learns why Gauche was targeted, why marauders are stealing letters, and the true purpose of Reverse, the organization manipulating both sides. Ordered to keep this knowledge secret, Lag is soon forced back into the endless night away from the artificial sunlight he briefly knew. Reverse accelerates its plan to destroy the Letter Bees and destabilize the Amberground government. At the same time, gaichuu are showing signs of a new evolutionary threat, suspicion arises that traitors may be operating within the Hive, and Niche’s nonhuman-friendly sister appears, transforming family conflict into a full-scale assault. These converging dangers place the Letter Bees under intense pressure, and Lag and his squad must endure the darkness and turmoil as they attempt to carry out their duties.
