Synopsis

Nishikata spends many days attempting to devise a flawless way to get the better of Takagi, the girl who effortlessly provokes him. He experiments with clever schemes, physical challenges, and displays of nerve, yet each approach fails to uncover any real weakness in her. Instead, his clumsy efforts tend to highlight his own shortcomings, which Takagi readily exploits as she intensifies her teasing. Their frequent exchanges spark whispers among classmates, adding social pressure to his difficulties. Despite setbacks and embarrassment, Nishikata remains hopeful that repeated exposure to her antics will teach him lessons over time. He persists in pursuing the unlikely goal of reversing the roles—catching Takagi off guard and causing her to feel uneasy himself—while navigating the awkwardness and growth that arise from their ongoing interactions.
