Synopsis

While sharing a meal in a village, sorceresses Lina Inverse and Naga the Serpent witness residents retreat indoors as two opposing forces arrive: a human army supporting the town's ruler, and a separate group composed of a young girl alongside a contingent of dragons. The lord initially attributes the disturbance to an ominous legacy, but the real cause is a domestic dispute: the dragon contingent is commanded by his daughter, Marlene, and their clashes stem from disagreements over her allowance. Lina accepts the ruler's request for assistance, while Naga sides with Marlene, setting the two sorceresses on opposite sides of a personal conflict that unsettles the village.
