Synopsis

A diligent but pressured student chooses to transfer to a boarding agricultural high school in rural Hokkaido to distance himself from parental expectations. Expecting to adapt easily, he finds himself outmatched by classmates raised on farms who possess practical expertise in crops, food, and animal care. Confronted with early mornings, hard labor, and animal husbandry, he struggles as an inexperienced newcomer to the demanding rhythms of agricultural life. The story follows his often humorous attempts to fit into this unfamiliar community, the distinctive people he meets, and his gradual effort to clarify his aspirations so he can build a life guided by his own choices.
