Synopsis

Tanya Degurechaff appears as a young, unthreatening girl yet commands fear for her cold, predatory effectiveness and sharp strategic mind, earning the epithet "Devil of the Rhine." Beneath that facade is the consciousness of a man who opposed a self-styled deity called Being X and was reborn into a realm defined by magical warfare. Determined to resist the will of that deity, Tanya seeks to climb her nation's military hierarchy as the country is drawn into a widening world war. Her calculating decisions and aggressive battlefield behavior not only serve her personal goal of defiance but also contribute to the Empire's rise to unprecedented strength. Throughout, the primary barrier to restoring any semblance of the peaceful existence she once had remains the inscrutable presence of Being X.
