Synopsis

At the all-girls Seishou Music Academy, preparations for the annual festival focus on staging Starlight, a sorrowful legend of two celestial goddesses who are irresistibly drawn together yet fated to be separated. The school exists to cultivate theatrical abilities—singing, acting, and dancing—in its students. Sixteen-year-old Karen Aijou, a relaxed girl long enamored with performance, finds renewed purpose when her childhood friend Hikari Kagura arrives at the academy. Through Hikari, Karen discovers a hidden elevator that leads to a vast subterranean theater overseen by an unusual host, a speaking giraffe. There, students engage in staged confrontations whose outcomes decide who will earn the designation of "Top Star" and secure a lead role in Starlight. Motivated by a shared promise with Hikari to achieve stardom together, Karen enters these enigmatic contests in pursuit of the role and the realization of their mutual dream.
