Synopsis

Kaede Azusagawa, concluding middle school, must choose between attending an online high school recommended by her counselor and enrolling at Minegahara High School like her brother. The counselor, aware of Kaede’s history of social withdrawal and intense fear of typical classrooms, advises a remote program as the safer option. Kaede, driven by a longing for an ordinary high school experience, asks her brother Sakuta, his partner Mai Sakurajima, and Mai’s half-sister Nodoka Toyohama to help her prepare for the entrance exam; they readily offer support. Once she begins pursuing her preferred path, Kaede’s unresolved emotional wounds resurface, and she struggles with the tension between the future she hoped for and the impact of her past. The story follows her internal conflict as she works through trauma and determines the direction she truly wants her life to take.
