Synopsis

Madoka Kaname and her close friend Sayaka Miki are ordinary students in Mitakihara until they meet a peculiar catlike being, Kyuubey, who offers to grant a single wish in return for transforming them into magical girls tasked with battling witches. A seasoned magical girl, Mami Tomoe, demonstrates the work of hunting witches, while Homura Akemi, a transfer student, urgently advises them against accepting Kyuubey’s bargain without explaining why. After observing the violent reality of confronting witches, Madoka and Sayaka contemplate refusing the offer for their own safety. The arrival of another magical girl and Sayaka’s decision to use a wish for someone she cares about escalate events, forcing the girls to face the grim consequences tied to their powers and the true cost attached to their wishes.
