Synopsis
Scientists use the fossil of the Legendary Pokémon Mew to produce the first successful clone, a being named Mewtwo. Distressed by its artificial origin and mistreatment, Mewtwo reacts violently and becomes a target for manipulation by Sakaki, Team Rocket’s leader, who draws it into harmful deeds. Feeling betrayed by human cruelty, Mewtwo withdraws and contemplates its existence while devising a campaign against people. Adopting the guise of an unbeatable Pokémon trainer, it lures the region’s strongest trainers into battle. With large-scale peril looming, prominent trainers Satoshi, Takeshi, and Kasumi confront Mewtwo in an effort to stop its campaign and prevent widespread catastrophe.
