Synopsis

Giratina, known as the Renegade Pokémon, confronts Dialga by a lakeshore and forces Dialga into an alternate dimension apart from the ordinary world. A small green Pokémon is inadvertently pulled into that realm as well; it later manages to flee, and Dialga takes advantage of the moment to break free after preventing Giratina from giving chase. The escaped creature, injured and responsible for disrupting Satoshi and his companions' picnic, is brought to the Pokémon Center where it receives care and is identified as Shaymin, the mythical Gratitude Pokémon. Communicating through telepathy, Shaymin insists that Satoshi, Hikari, and Takeshi escort it somewhere specific. Before they can learn the destination, the trio find themselves tracked by Giratina and a mysterious figure known as Zero, both intent on locating Shaymin. The group must attempt to guide Shaymin to its intended place while avoiding the dangers posed by their pursuers.
