Synopsis

Ainz Ooal Gown, once the human Momonga, has embraced his identity as an undead sorcerer and sovereign of the Great Tomb of Nazarick in a world that mirrors his former VR game, Yggdrasil. Despite familiar contours, the realm conceals unknowns that Ainz seeks to investigate while exercising his authority from Nazarick. After a subordinate suffered catastrophic brainwashing, Ainz grows cautious about the rising menace posed by the Slane Theocracy and apprehensive about the possibility that other former Yggdrasil participants might be present. His trusted guardians, including Albedo and Demiurge, carry out preparations for a decisive escalation: Nazarick’s inaugural war. This installment continues immediately from the prior entry, following Ainz, his fiercely loyal and misanthropic guardians, and the ordinary humans caught in the wake of the Overlord’s emergence.
