Synopsis

Tarou Yamada, once aspiring to baseball success, enrolls at an ordinary public high school after abandoning competitive play. There he unexpectedly encounters Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname, the famed pitcher-catcher tandem whose dominance in middle school dashed many ambitions. Kaname, previously the calm tactician nicknamed the "General," now suffers from memory loss and behaves as a crude, carefree prankster, while Kiyomine remains the powerful pitcher he once was. The pair attend Kotesashi primarily for its proximity to home, not for baseball. As a modest baseball club begins to form at the school, Yamada recognizes other former stars who likewise turned away from the sport. Determined to rekindle their commitment, he attempts to persuade these talented but reluctant classmates to play again, hoping that their combined skill—even with Kaname's distracting antics—could make a run at the national title.
