Synopsis
Chiaki advances rapidly as the chief conductor of the rejuvenated Roux-Marlet Orchestra, while Megumi "Nodame" Noda progresses as a pianist at the Conservatoire de Paris. Their relationship grows strained as Nodame feels eclipsed by Chiaki’s ascending reputation and his close rapport with celebrated pianist Rui Son. Ignoring guidance from her teacher Charles Auclair, Nodame enrolls in another piano contest to revive her performing trajectory. Around them, others confront pivotal moments: Rui questions her own path after hearing Nodame and being turned away by Auclair; Maestro Franz von Stresemann contemplates his finite life; pianists Yunlong Li and Tatiana Vishneva intensely prepare for competition, with Tatiana also wrestling with emerging feelings for oboist Yasunori Kuroki. As Chiaki, Nodame, and their peers pursue personal and professional growth, they must stay authentic to themselves while recalling the beginnings of their journeys.
