Synopsis

Shinichi Chiaki is an elite-level musician who aspires to perform among Europe’s top artists. Raised in a prominent family, he maintains strict standards and is notoriously hard on himself and others. His ambition to travel and study abroad is thwarted by a paralyzing fear of flying, leaving him confined to Japan. In his fourth year at the country’s foremost music university, he encounters Megumi Noda, who calls herself Nodame. She appears messy and aimless at first glance, yet when Shinichi hears her piano playing he is profoundly affected by the emotional and distinctive music she produces. Complicating matters, Nodame becomes his neighbor and quickly develops romantic feelings for him, altering the dynamics of both their lives.
