Synopsis
Takashi Natsume possesses the rare ability to perceive youkai. Accompanied by his protector Madara, commonly called Nyanko-sensei, he travels to return spirits bound within the Book of Friends. Over time Natsume shifts from viewing his sight as a burden to accepting it, learning to appreciate relationships with both humans and youkai. Through these connections he comes to understand that he can find contentment without choosing one realm over the other.
