Synopsis

A recent brain-affecting virus has upended common beliefs by exposing phantoms—ghosts and youkai—as real inhabitants alongside humans. The outbreak also altered many young people, granting them abilities they can use to confront hazardous phantoms. Among these youths are Haruhiko Ichijou, who can call forth and confine phantoms through his drawings, and Mai Kawakami, who channels elemental forces into her martial arts. Together with Ruru, a companion phantom, they comprise Team E of Hosea Academy, a group tasked with managing the frequent, sometimes troublesome incidents that arise when the ordinary world and the supernatural overlap.
