The first Blu-ray and DVD release of Osomatsu-san contains an alternate installment that takes the place of the series' original opening episode, which was pulled because it incorporated numerous parodied elements. That initial episode has been removed from online streaming platforms and from the Japanese Blu-ray edition. The substitute segment is listed on the home-video set with an unconventional numbering and is placed in the sequence after episode three (it is sometimes labeled as "episode 3.5"), reflecting its chronological location relative to the televised episodes.
