Synopsis

This four-episode account follows siblings whose lives are upended by the sudden passing of their father, Zeon Zum Deikun, a prominent Spacenoid leader. The narrative tracks how that loss sets the course for Char Aznable—later known as the “Red Comet”—and Sayla Mass, showing their separate paths as political forces shift on Side 3. It portrays the Zabi family’s takeover of Side 3 and the establishment of the Principality of Zeon, the formative experiences of pilots who will become notable aces in the One Year War, the hidden aspects of mobile suit development, and escalating clashes with the Earth Federation Forces. The series traces the events and tensions that lead to the outbreak of larger conflict, maintaining a focus on the emotional and political fallout from the siblings’ tragedy without revealing later outcomes.
