Mekakucity Records continues the narrative of the Mekakushi-dan, presenting interlinked episodes that explore identity, memory, and family ties. In one tale, Shuuya Kano, gifted with a red-eye ability that lets him alter his appearance and deceive others, recounts a story that blurs truth and pretense as he struggles to recall his authentic self. Another episode follows Shintarou Kisaragi, who secludes himself while haunted by former decisions; confronted with the need to choose whether to confront his past or remain trapped by regret, he is compelled to recover buried recollections. A third story centers on Ayano Tateyama, whose parents take in three red-eyed orphans; determined to protect their fragile happiness, she forms the Mekakushi-dan and embraces a role as an affectionate, protective sister, highlighting the emotional bonds that form this unconventional family.
