Synopsis

An underground competitor known as Junk Dog scrapes by in illegal Megalo Box bouts—boxing enhanced by mechanical Gear—taking dives under orders from boss Gansaku Nanbu. After being decisively defeated in one round by the reigning champion Yuuri, who entered Junk Dog’s ring incognito, he is issued a direct challenge: earn a rematch by rising through the ranks and reaching the champion’s ring. Motivated and backed by the same criminal network that exploited his fixed fights, Junk Dog adopts the name Joe and enters Megalonia, a worldwide contest to determine the top Megalo Boxer. Starting at the very bottom of the rankings with only three months to qualify, Joe confronts increasingly formidable adversaries in his race to confront the rival who exposed his limits.
