Synopsis

Local tales claim a pact with a pale fairy grants any heartfelt desire, but the recipient must become a magical girl who risks everything to battle deadly witches. Iroha Tamaki, a compassionate middle-schooler from Takarazaki City, embodies that rumor. Equipped with a magical crossbow and healing powers, she hunts witches within their labyrinths to protect people, yet she cannot recall what she asked for, and even the white fairy Kyuubey appears unaware of her request. Hearing of a place where magical girls might be rescued, Iroha travels at dusk to Kamihama City, only to find its witches unusually formidable. Rescued by experienced magical girl Yachiyo Nanami, Iroha initially resolves to leave, but an encounter with a small Kyuubey stirs faint recollections and draws her back into the city to uncover its mysteries despite the escalating danger.
