Synopsis

A colossal fissure known as the Abyss plunges into the earth, home to strange lifeforms and remnants of an ancient era. Its origin and depths are mysteries that draw specialized explorers called Divers, who descend into increasingly perilous layers. The most skilled among them, the White Whistles, are revered by those left above. Riko, whose mother was the famed White Whistle Lyza the Annihilator, dreams of matching that legacy and reaching the Abyss’s farthest reaches. As a novice Red Whistle, she is restricted to the uppermost stratum, yet fate brings her into contact with a peculiar mechanical being that looks like a young boy and cannot recall how he came to be. Naming him Reg, Riko believes his construction must trace back to the deeper levels of the chasm. Determined to restore his memories and to witness the bottom of the pit, they set out together, unaware of the brutal realities and dangers that define life within the Abyss.
