Synopsis

Atsuko "Akko" Kagari, inspired by a famed performer known as Shiny Chariot, adopts the motto that heartfelt belief is the essence of magic and sets out to become a witch who brings joy to others. Lacking a magical family background does not deter her from joining Luna Nova Magical Academy. Her arrival is marked by a difficult journey, new friendships with the reserved Lotte Yansson and the dry-witted Sucy Manbavaran, and the discovery of Shiny Chariot's wand, the Shiny Rod, which she claims. At school, Akko encounters obstacles far beyond her expectations: she struggles with clumsy spellwork and a tendency toward rash choices, and she is determined not to be overshadowed by her talented, self-styled rival Diana Cavendish. Set against a world where magic is waning, the story follows Akko and her companions as they navigate school life, personal growth, and the deeper significance of what it means to be a witch.
