Synopsis

Ibuki Keita, a high schooler long plagued by persistent calamity that causes tragic losses among those near him, keeps others at arm’s length to avoid further pain, including distancing himself from childhood friend Akane. One evening at a ramen shop he encounters Kuro, an unusual girl whose capabilities exceed normal human limits and who identifies as a Mototsumitama. Kuro tells Keita about Terra, a life-energy divided among three visually identical individuals as part of a worldwide phenomenon known as the Doppeliner System, and about the Coexistence Equilibrium—entities charged with safeguarding Terra’s circulation across the globe. Skeptical at first, Keita is drawn into this concealed conflict and, facing death, enters into a contract with Kuro without fully understanding its implications. The agreement binds him to her presence at all times, forcing him to confront a new reality that may compound the misfortune that has defined his life.
