Synopsis

Hitohito Tadano begins high school intending to stay unnoticed, but his plan falters when he sits beside Shouko Komi, the class’s admired and elegant figure. Komi’s outward poise and popularity conceal severe anxiety and a difficulty communicating with others. After being left alone together, Komi and Tadano start a written exchange on the classroom board; Tadano is the first to understand her condition and responds in kind. Learning that Komi has set herself the personal aim of gaining one hundred friends during her school years, Tadano chooses to support her efforts and becomes her first genuine friend, helping her navigate social challenges without exposing or altering her inner struggles.
