Synopsis

In a society where corporate disputes are settled through sanctioned hand-to-hand combat rather than negotiation, gladiators represent businesses in violent arena matches that date back to the Edo period. Kengan Ashura follows Ouma Tokita, known as "The Ashura," an aggressive combatant determined to establish himself as the top fighter. The Nogi Group recruits Ouma for their battles and assigns Kazuo Yamashita, an ordinary middle-aged salaryman, to act as his manager. Through the Kengan Association, the pair become involved in a series of harsh, high-stakes fights against other skilled gladiators who share the ambition to rise to the top. The story emphasizes intense martial arts clashes and the personal challenges faced by both the fighter and his inexperienced handler as they pursue supremacy.
