Synopsis

When Kabamaru's stern grandfather and Iga instructor passes away, an elderly woman named Ran Ookubo arrives claiming a last request: to look after his grandson. Kabamaru departs with her for Tokyo, where he immerses himself in urban life, sampling street foods like yakisoba, ramen, and chow mein, and enrolls in a mainstream school that conceals its own eccentricities. The story follows his adjustment from a rigid, traditional upbringing to the unpredictable rhythms of the city and the odd dynamics of his new classmates and teachers, maintaining a blend of humor and gentle cultural contrast without revealing key plot developments.
