Synopsis

After the Heath Oslo affair exposed an anti-terror group's operations, the US-Japanese agency CIRS was reconstructed and its most clandestine duties reassigned to a new body: SORD (Social Ops, Research & Development). SORD's mission is to cultivate operatives capable of countering future threats, so it has established specialized training schools nationwide. Mihama Academy, once shuttered and neglected, has been repurposed as one such institution. In its renewed role, Mihama gathers a varied cohort of students who refine their atypical talents through daily instruction and fieldwork. These young women are issued firearms and live rounds, and they repeatedly undertake perilous extralegal assignments in service of national security. They accept the risks to their own safety as part of their duty, confronting moral strain and the demands of survival. Living by their own strength and fighting to endure becomes central to how they seek meaning and reconciliation. Facing relentless pressure, these girls—having chosen the armed path—must confront an uncertain future shaped by their commitments and the consequences of their missions.
