Synopsis

Souma Yukihira grew up cooking beside his father, honing techniques and crafting inventive dishes as a sous chef in the family eatery. When his father shuts the restaurant to accept work abroad, Souma enrolls at the elite Tootsuki Culinary Academy instead of following him. At Tootsuki, where only a small fraction of students complete the program, disputes and rankings are often decided through high-stakes cooking duels known as Shokugeki. Charged by his father with the challenge to surpass him and endure the academy’s rigorous three-year course, Souma must confront a punishing curriculum and a cutthroat student body. Surrounded by fierce rivals and relentless expectations, he is forced to adapt and grow if he hopes to survive the academy and achieve his ambition—yet technical skill may not be the only factor determining who rises to the top.
