Synopsis
After NERV's effort to reclaim the Spears of Longinus and enforce the Human Instrumentality Project collapses, the Fourth Impact's devastation is mostly avoided. Displaced and unsettled, Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Shikinami, and Rei Ayanami relocate to Village 3, a community of survivors spared from global ruin. In this quieter setting, Shinji gradually faces his history and begins to shape a life far removed from his role as an Evangelion pilot. Meanwhile, NERV moves forward with plans to renew Instrumentality through another cataclysmic event. When WILLE's principal airship reaches the settlement, Shinji chooses to board, thinking his piloting might make a difference. As concealed truths emerge and tensions rise between WILLE and NERV, a decisive clash looms that will determine Earth's fate and whether Shinji can prevent one final catastrophe.
