Synopsis

In a devastated future where Tokyo-3 stands as humanity's final fortified community, fourteen-year-old Shinji Ikari is summoned to NERV, an underground defense organization led by his distant father, Gendou. Gendou asks Shinji to take the role of pilot for an Evangelion, a massive humanoid machine designed to combat the terrifying alien entities called Angels that threaten what remains of human civilization. Though hesitant at first, Shinji is ultimately motivated by the possibility of reconnecting with his father and accepts the duty to operate Evangelion Unit-01. Thrown into relentless and perilous confrontations, Shinji must summon inner strength and determination to face the Angels' attacks and protect the fragile remnants of humanity.
