Synopsis

Nobita requests Doraemon’s help to experience diving, so the robot-cat deploys several devices that create a simulated ocean above ground. When the illusion ends, a mermaid named Sophia—a princess from an ancient underwater civilization—appears in Nobita’s yard. Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Giant, and Suneo befriend her and accept an invitation to visit her underwater homeland. En route to the submerged kingdom they are drawn into an ongoing struggle: mermaids fighting a rival tribe that had exiled them from their world millennia ago. To help resolve the conflict, Doraemon, Nobita, and their companions assist Sophia in locating a fabled sword said to have the power to bring peace to the seas.
