Synopsis

While playing by a river, Nobita rescues a drowning stray dog and secretly brings it home, naming it Ichi. He later shelters a stray cat found in a rainstorm, Zubu, and gradually cares for many other abandoned cats and dogs. Faced with the difficulty of keeping so many animals, Nobita and his friends decide to send the group 300 million years into the past, to an uninhabited era, using technology to enable them to operate a food-production device and promising to return. Their subsequent visit is disrupted by a time-space anomaly that deposits them 1,000 years earlier than intended. There they discover the animals have developed into organized dog and cat societies with levels of civilization comparable to Future Society. Stranded by a broken time machine, the group seeks assistance to repair it, only to uncover a larger danger: a cluster of asteroids is on a collision course with Earth. The story follows Nobita’s efforts to reunite with Ichi, the mystery of Hachi, a dog bearing a strong resemblance to Ichi, and the trials of surviving and resolving threats across vast spans of time and space.
