Synopsis

Three years have passed since the connection to the Digital World was severed. Taichi Yagami and his childhood companions have gradually moved on with their lives; now in his second year of high school, Taichi confronts uncertainty about his future while his friends pursue their own directions and distance grows between them. When an aggressive insectoid Digimon named Kuwagamon manifests and interferes with electronics across the city, Taichi impulsively gives chase and becomes trapped by the creature's attack. His old Digivice—an electronic tool that assists a human partner's Digimon in various ways, including evolution—reactivates and summons Agumon, allowing them to fend off Kuwagamon. The incident raises questions: why are Digimon appearing in the human world again, what disturbances are affecting the Digital World, and what role does Meiko Mochizuki, a new transfer student in Taichi's class, play in these events? The story follows Taichi as he navigates the transition to adulthood, the widening gaps among his friends, and the emerging mysteries that reconnect the human and Digital Worlds.
