Synopsis

Ouri Kagami, who lives at a shrine with other orphans, is accustomed to death. His routine is upended when he witnesses Keisei Tagami, the orphanage's patron, appear to bring a scarred girl named Makina Hoshimura back from death. Makina is revealed to be a Shikabane Hime, an undead operative charged with hunting and destroying other undead that threaten humans. Ouri keeps meeting her under unusual circumstances that grow progressively stranger and more intense, and their repeated encounters begin to draw them into one another's lives. As their relationship deepens, their linked destinies become central to uncovering the concealed realities of the Shikabane world.
