Synopsis
Earth falls under the control of the oppressive Illumidus Empire, an occupation evoking parallels to the postwar U.S. presence in Japan. Captain Harlock assembles a circle of companions who become steadfast friends, and together they launch a determined struggle against the occupying power. They pursue the goal of returning liberty to Earth's inhabitants, accepting the personal sacrifices and costs their resistance will entail while remaining committed to the principle of freedom.
