Synopsis

In a universe where humans and demons occupy parallel realms—Assiah and Gehenna—passage between them depends on spirit possession. Satan, Gehenna’s ruler, cannot find a host suitable for his own transfer and remains confined to his realm. To secure influence in Assiah, he dispatches his son with the aim that the boy will one day become a vessel for the demon king. Rin Okumura appears to be a typical, somewhat unruly teenager until a demonic assault reveals his true origin: he is the son of Satan. Confronted with his lineage and his father’s intention that he return to Gehenna to join in a campaign against the human world, Rin rejects that destiny. Choosing instead to defend Assiah, he commits to training as an exorcist and stands with his twin, Yukio, to confront the threats that emerge from the other realm.
