Synopsis

Asta and Yuno, abandoned at the same church on the same day, grow up together and pledge to compete for the title of Wizard King—the kingdom's strongest mage. As they mature, their abilities diverge: Yuno displays exceptional magical talent and control, while Asta is unable to use magic and focuses on rigorous physical training to awaken his powers. At fifteen, Yuno receives a remarkable four-leaf clover grimoire, while Asta initially gets nothing. Soon after, an assailant named Lebuty attacks Yuno to seize his grimoire. Asta confronts Lebuty but is overwhelmed until hearing Yuno's voice spurs him on. In a surge of emotion, Asta manifests a rare five-leaf clover grimoire, the Black Clover, which grants him the strength to overcome the attacker. Following these events, Asta and Yuno set off into the wider world, each pursuing the same ambition of becoming the Wizard King.
