Synopsis

Set in ancient Liang, many deceased locals become vessels for souls from two millennia ahead, turning them into time travelers who introduce advanced knowledge and experiences to the era. Their arrival unsettles society and draws the attention and mistrust of the emperor. Lou Zhu, a time traveler committed to peaceful coexistence, forges a close relationship with Zuo Yunqi, a native of an influential household, and seeks a conciliatory path for progress. Rising tensions between the imperial court and militant time travelers culminate in a catastrophic event in which Lou Zhu intervenes to stop mass destruction and is buried under a collapsed mountain, his condition left ambiguous. Six months later, the emperor exploits the disruption to command a purge of all time travelers, while a radical group known as the Pioneers, led by Jiao Jiaoran, aims to leverage modern armaments to topple imperial power. Both the court and the extremists focus their efforts on Lou Zhu, rumored to be recuperating within the martial arts community.
