Synopsis

A government recruiting talent from beyond its borders assigns roles based on skill to modernize a stagnant nation and reshape society. Zuo Yunqi, an otherwise ordinary young master, assumes the identity of an outsider to secure a position and protect his father. His cover is exposed by an operative employed to distinguish genuine outsiders from impostors, and their intellectual clashes lead to a series of humorous encounters that gradually turn into cooperation. As they work together, they uncover a disturbing plot and learn that a faction of outsiders has organized to challenge the ruling order and establish a society founded on peace and equality. Confronted with mounting tensions and difficult choices, Zuo Yunqi and his allies are drawn into the conflict and must take part in the struggle that follows.
