Synopsis

Masamune Okumura, recovering from a failed love confession, retreats into anime and manga as a second-year high school student and president of the Manga Research Club. He finds comfort in following the adventures of his beloved character, the angel Liliel. Early in the school year, Masamune encounters Ririsa Amano, a first-year with a strong commitment to cosplay. Though hesitant at first, he agrees to serve as her photographer for a project centered on Liliel. As he grows more engaged with cosplay and image editing, Masamune is reunited with Mikari Tachibana, a childhood friend who has taken up modeling in an effort to attract an upperclassman. Concluding that modeling alone will not sway Masamune, Mikari joins the club and begins cosplaying herself, hoping this will finally give her a chance to earn his affection. Throughout, Masamune must confront whether his deep attachment to fictional figures can make room for real people who portray them.
