Synopsis

In Domino City, Duel Monsters has become widely popular: two Duelists battle using monster cards to reduce each other’s Life Points from an initial total of two thousand, and a player whose points reach zero loses. Shougo Aoyama, a shy youth, acquires a deck featuring the storied Red Eyes Black Dragon, a card linked to victory for those who show courage. News of Shougo’s possession of the card spreads and draws the attention of competitive Duelist Seto Kaiba, who seeks powerful cards by any means. Kaiba extends an invitation to Shougo and his rival Yuugi Mutou to enter a Duel Monsters tournament, setting the stage for Shougo to confront his fear of defeat.
