Synopsis

A white snake demon named Xiao-Bai is dispatched to kill the Emperor's Taoist advisor, who has been slaughtering snakes to gain immortality and favor. Ambushed by the advisor's henchmen, she is defeated, but survives when a demonic hairpin given by the Snake Mother restores her life at the cost of her memories. Xiao-Bai wakes in a village of snake-catchers, unaware of her true nature and surrounded by those who despise her kind. Rescued by Xu Xuan, she becomes drawn to him as they travel to uncover her past and the mystery behind the hairpin. Meanwhile Xiao-Qing, Xiao-Bai's sister, swears to the Snake Mother to bring Xiao-Bai back within three days or die attempting. As Taoists, demons, and humans clash, the story unfolds into a restrained, forbidden romance centered on identity, loyalty, and the consequences of past actions.
