Synopsis

In 2099, medical android technology called Somadea has eradicated ordinary injury and illness, but its illicit modification has given rise to new forms of crime. Somadea-enhanced individuals can exceed normal human capabilities, and the state responds by authorizing registered civilians as bounty hunters: they may neutralize wanted illegal users and claim substantial rewards, regardless of whether the target survives. Ubu Kamigori ekes out a living under this system, confronting dangerous offenders for profit. Returning from an assignment one evening, she encounters a man from her troubled past known as Mr. Elegance, an encounter that begins to pull at the threads of her fate. The story follows her through a gritty, suspenseful landscape of mechanically altered young women and the acrid tang of gunpowder, unfolding as a tense action narrative about justice, survival, and the personal costs of living amid rampant technological abuse.
