Synopsis

Humanity has spread across the galaxy, but in one system social division hardened into literal planetary separation: men live on Taraak, women on Mejere, and mutual hostility has become entrenched. Hibiki Tokai, a low-ranking male laborer from Taraak, finds himself aboard a warship following a failed attempt to steal a machine. When female privateers seize that vessel, the situation worsens: a desperate volley from the Vanguard’s male crew generates a massive spatial rupture that drags both the Taraakian warship and the Mejeran pirate vessels light-years away. Cut off from their home worlds and forced into close quarters, the male and female survivors confront entrenched enmity and must find ways to cooperate if they hope to return. The story tracks their struggle to bridge deep-seated mistrust, adapt to unfamiliar alliances, and pursue a path home while tensions, survival needs, and differing perspectives collide.
